Project Overview
Mind Window is a research initiative by the University of Arizona studying how day-to-day life affects cognition. I was brought on to design a suite of social media ads to help recruit 1,500 English-speaking participants, predominantly ages 30–50, from an international audience. The ads were to be handed off to a separate media agency for distribution.

Challenges & Solutions

  • Demographic Fit: Sourcing media that authentically reflected the 30–50 age group required deep curation and occasional visual modification via AI

  • Pet Imagery Constraints: The client requested pets but restricted use of brachycephalic breeds—AI inpainting helped adjust stock imagery accordingly

  • Tone Balancing: Needed to avoid framing the project as health/wellness content—focused instead on relatability, curiosity, and lived experience

Outcome
Delivered a complete and flexible ad toolkit—optimized for various platforms and ready for deployment by the agency partner.

  • Analyzed existing research materials to align tone and visuals with target demographics

  • Wrote multiple variations of ad copy

  • Designed both static and motion ads in four aspect ratios: 1:1, 4:5, 9:16, and 16:9

  • Sourced and adapted visuals using a mix of stock photography and AI inpainting

  • Used AI tools to animate stills and create light motion for video ads

  • Collected user quotes and prepared assets for seamless handoff
